Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Comet CaRE School

COMET stands for Community Outreach Model of Education and Training. The school exists to provide an alternative setting to mainstream education for students who have been unable to successfully access education at conventional mainstream schools at Years 10, 11 and 12.

Comet prides its success on the fostering of excellent relationships between school staff, students and their families. These relationships, which are based on empathy and respect, underpin the learning process. At Comet students have access to the Certificate of General Education for Adults at levels I, II and III (Year 9, 10 and 11 equivalency) as well as a range of conventional mainstream courses which contribute to the West Australian Certificate of Education. The school curriculum has a particular focus on student care including a protective behaviours framework which is tailored to our students’ needs. This ensures our students receive the best possible provision of personal, social and emotional, as well as academic development.

Comet runs a highly student centred learning model and much of the learning is student paced rather than students having to conform to an inflexible educational model, which may not suit their learning requirements.  This approach supports student engagement, achievement, and personal development.

Please take time to view the Comet website and feel free to contact us for any further information, or to organise a visit for enrolment.

I sincerely hope your visit to our website was useful and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
