FAQs
Comet stands for Community Outreach Model of Education and Training.
We provide alternative and appropriate education for young people
struggling to attend mainstream school. You can find out more here.
Comet Clarkson operates at the Clarkson Youth Centre, which is graciously provided in-kind by the City of Wanneroo. Access to the site’s custom youth facilities is extremely important in creating an environment suitable for different types of learners.
Comet Caversham is located at the corner of Benara Road and West Swan Road (next to the 7-11).
Comet Albany is located at 19 Prior St, Centennial Park.
If getting here is a problem, our teams pick up and drop off students
from the Clarkson Train Station at a designated time each day and from
Caversham we have two bus runs to the school. If you are in Albany and
will have trouble getting to Comet give us a call.
Unlike a mainstream school, our program in Clarkson takes a maximum of 40 students at a time and in Caversham we can accommodate up to 80 students. We have a high staff to student ratio which means each young person is offered individualised one-on-one support. As part of our holistic approach we believe it’s important to help young people succeed by assisting them to overcome factors that have impacted their learning. You can find out more about how we work here.
We generally start the day at 9 am and finish by 2.30 pm.
At Comet, we understand that circumstances might make it difficult for some young people to attend at these times. If this is the case for you please let our staff know so they can work something out. Your choice to re-connect with learning is what’s most important to us.
Yes… your willingness to work towards a better you.
Everything else, including lunch, will be provided.
